Our Process

To start the process, we provide a complimentary meeting to discuss your aspirations and project, either in our office or on site. We’ll talk through your brief and ideas, as well as discussing the level of service you may require from us. We will make you aware of any additional consultants that we may need to bring onboard as part of the process.
We’ll carry out a dimensional survey and depending on the complexity of the site, arrange a topographic survey. An accurate survey is essential to act as a basis for a design scheme. It informs us of any constraints and potential opportunities such as views and orientation.
After assessing your needs and the existing site context, we’ll begin to draft some initial ideas for your comment. These initial concept sketches will capture the relationship between spaces and essence of the scheme. Our sketch scheme will evolve with your feedback throughout the process.
Once you are satisfied with the concept scheme, we’ll begin adding more detail and producing scaled architectural drawings. We’ll engage any necessary consultants to co-ordinate their work. These will be submitted to the local planning authority and managed by our in-house planning consultant to a decision.
After receiving a planning consent, we’ll start producing a building regulation pack. We’ll also start developing internal details such as kitchens and bathrooms. At this stage we’ll start working with more specialist consultants such as a structural engineer. As a design team we will be assessing the proposal to produce the most efficient way to build your project, in line with the latest regulations. These drawings will be supplemented by schedules and construction details in readiness for sharing with builders for quoting.
We will support you and your chosen contractor through the construction process, ensuring the scheme is built in full accordance with our details. Our approach is to make the construction process as stress free as possible by being on hand throughout the construction. When the project is nearing completion, we’ll carry out a detailed inspection to capture any defect, to make sure these are rectified before you are given the keys.
